About Sinthuja

Hello, my name is Sinthuja. Thank you for reading more about me!

Sinthuja’s educational background includes a MA in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University, a BSc in Psychology and Biology from University of Toronto and a graduate certificate in Mental Health Intervention from Seneca College.

Sinthuja believes, an important first step in the journey of healing and self-discovery is talking with someone in a safe space. Sinthuja provides ethical, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care through a client-led practice. Sinthuja understands that no single approach is the right one for every individual. Thus, she utilizes a collaborative and eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from multiple theoretical orientations and techniques in accordance with client goals and expectations. Sinthuja’s main theoretical framework is a client-centered approach, but she also uses CBT, DBT, solution-focused, and interpersonal.

Sinthuja is passionate about de-stigmatizing mental health in minority populations and working with BIPOC and non-BIPOC individuals. She believes clients are the experts in their life and in their healing. She learns from client’s experiences to develop a better understanding of who they are and how they developed their worldviews.

Sinthuja’s background combined with life experiences equips her to focus on her clients with a non-judgmental stance to help them overcome their emotional distress and behavioral concerns.
