Introduction

A complimentary meet & greet is a great way to start your therapeutic journey - with an introduction! Within this appointment, it provides space for you to ask any questions or address any concerns you may have about myself, my practice, therapy, and more. It's also a great opportunity for myself to ensure I can support you the way you would like to be supported (e.g. asking about your presenting concern, therapeutic goals, etc.). Overall, meet and greets provide an open and safe space to discover if we are a good fit for one another.

Founder and Clinical Director Cassandra's journey in the field of psychotherapy began during her time as a Physiotherapist Assistant at Sunnybrook Hospital. It was there that she realized the profound impact of an individual's mental health on their physical well-being and the recovery process. This realization sparked her passion for holistic wellness. Cassandra's unwavering commitment to the well-being of others led her to establish One Peace Therapy in September 2020, a practice that reflects her values and beliefs in supporting individuals with mental and physical health concerns.

Our team of professionals consists of Registered Psychotherapists and a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to address your specific needs.

Our dedicated Administrator is here to assist you with inquiries and information regarding scheduling a session. We're committed to making your experience as seamless as possible.

Embarking on the journey of therapy or nutritional counseling is a significant step, and it's completely normal to feel a bit overwhelmed during your initial visit – in fact, it's expected! At One Peace Therapy, we want you to know that your first appointment is a safe space designed for us to understand you and your concerns better.

During this introductory session, your practitioner's primary focus is on building a connection with you. We recognize that each individual is unique, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach. Our goal is to gather essential information about your needs, challenges, and goals. Building a strong, trusting relationship is key, and this process is ongoing, forming the solid foundation upon which we'll build your therapeutic journey.

We understand that life is unpredictable, and unexpected challenges may arise. Therefore, our approach is flexible. Follow-up sessions typically continue the conversation from previous meetings, allowing us to monitor your progress, especially if there were specific tasks or homework assignments. However, we adapt our structure according to your evolving needs and circumstances.

Most importantly, we want you to feel empowered and in control of your sessions. Your comfort and preferences matter to us. You have the freedom to shape the session according to your comfort level and pace. Your session is yours to navigate, and we are here to support you every step of the way, meeting you exactly where you are on your path to wellness.

We acknowledge how overwhelming and challenging life can be. Our passion is working with individuals’ experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem concerns, identity concerns, interpersonal conflict, and trauma. 

We are passionate about supporting individuals in developing skills of emotion understanding, emotion regulation, healthy self-esteem, and resilience. 

Our goal is to work with clients to explore the root of their concerns and support them in developing a plan to overcome the challenges they experience.

Treatments

One Size Does Not Fit All!

One Peace Therapy offers Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and more approaches. We always incorporate a Trauma-Informed approach, and an Anti-Oppressive/ strength-based approach through a culturally sensitive lens. Depending on your need and/or belief, we also incorporate mindfulness techniques into our practice. 
We believe it is vital to gain a holistic picture of our clients, to be able to meet them where they are at in their life and appropriately and effectively assist them on their healing journey. 

We will work with you, at your own pace, to increase your awareness and agency. At One Peace Therapy Inc. believe that the psychotherapy journey begins with being heard, seen, understood, and accepted. From here, self-growth, self-acceptance, and self-awareness are inevitable.
