Gideon is accepting new clients in September 2026!
Hello and welcome, my name is Gideon Oti-Gyamfi; thank you for taking the time to read more about me!
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Carleton University.
My approach starts with building a strong alliance with you by understanding who you are today, and what matters to you. From this point we can explore which approach makes the most sense for your goals, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. In our alliance, we can work to reduce immediate symptoms impacting your day to day functioning, increase self-awareness, and gain closer alignment with who you intend to be. I am committed to creating a non-judgemental, culturally responsive and socially just environment where you will be safe to express yourself and work towards your desired healthy outcomes.
My work experience includes working to connect entrepreneurs to resources to support their personal and business growth, working to find resolutions for those who have had unsatisfactory or harmful encounters with law enforcement, CNC machine operating, temp agency factory work, and assisting in research for mental health and equity focused consulting projects. I also have volunteer experience as a Crisis Responder, assisting with afterschool programs at a community center, and serving as a Student Executive for the Black Psychology section of the Canadian Psychological Association.
