About Rachael
Hi there, my name is Rachael Fernandes. Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about me.
Rachael obtained her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Rachael holds a BSc Hons from the University of Toronto Mississauga in Psychology, Professional Writing, and Biology.
Volunteering and mentoring in crisis and suicide prevention support services, Rachael gained experience supporting individuals in distress with various concerns and demographics. Her reflective and person-specific approach pulls from solution-focused, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), multicultural, trauma-informed, psychodynamic, and narrative lenses.
Primarily, Rachael aims to provide a safe, thoughtful, and kind environment working with clients to find self-compassion and self-defined narratives.
Rachael believes mental health encompasses journeying and reflecting on spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional elements. Rachael’s experience provides tools for self-awareness, coping, self-empathy, and resilience.
