Tina is accepting new clients!
Hello, my name is Tina. Thank you for taking the time to read more about me.
My journey in this field began when I read in a book that psychotherapy is a kind of “talk
therapy”—a concept that immediately resonated with me. I loved the idea that meaningful
conversations could facilitate healing and change, and this passion led me to pursue a career in
counseling psychology.
I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance in Iran about ten years ago and
spent four years working as a counselor, supporting individuals struggling with anxiety,
depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. My practice was grounded in Choice
Theory/Reality Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), helping clients develop
healthier perspectives and coping strategies. To continue my work as a therapist in Canada, I am
currently pursuing a Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Yorkville University. Now, as a
student therapist, I take an evidence-based and compassionate approach, guiding clients toward
greater resilience and self-understanding as they navigate life’s challenges.
As a therapist, I combine Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with client-centered,
collaborative strategies to help individuals understand how their emotions, thoughts, and
behaviors are interconnected. I aim to foster a supportive environment in which clients can
challenge limiting beliefs and explore healthier coping mechanisms. In my opinion, healing is a
process of transformation, as Viktor Frankl wisely put it, “When we can no longer change a
situation, we must change ourselves.” Together, we identify strengths, build resilience, and
create meaningful change, helping clients gain self-awareness and self-confidence as they move
forward.
As an immigrant myself, I deeply value cultural diversity and strive to provide culturally
sensitive treatment that respects each client’s unique background and experiences. My goal is to
create a safe, inclusive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.
