A Glowing Light Within: Reclaiming Inner Strength Through Visualization
By Sara Louie Tehrani, Intern Psychotherapist and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
In the therapeutic space, small practices can lead to powerful inner shifts. One such practice is guided visualization—a gentle, imaginative tool that helps individuals reconnect with their sense of safety and strength. During a recent session, a client was invited to visualize placing something precious and glowing in the room—a symbolic object representing value, calm, and personal meaning. As they described how this light filled the space, something shifted: the room began to feel warmer, safer, and more their own. The object became a quiet affirmation of self-worth, reflecting something already present.
This moment reflects a deeper truth echoed in a profound teaching:
“Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can alone cause it to reveal its treasures.” – Bahá’u’lláh.
This perspective invites us to view each person not as someone to be fixed, but as someone whose inner potential is waiting to be uncovered. Often, emotional distress or trauma clouds that inner light. Yet, through therapeutic tools like visualization, individuals can begin to tap into their healing resources.
Try this reflective practice at home:
Picture a safe space—perhaps your room or a quiet place you are familiar with.
Imagine placing something radiant and meaningful in that space.
Let the light from that object fill the room, bringing comfort and ease.
Now, consider that the light is not just in the object—it’s a reflection of you.
Healing often begins with remembering what is already within us. At One Peace Therapy, we support individuals in gently reconnecting with their inner strength—because the path to peace is not about perfection, but about presence and self-compassion.
